Cai Yaling, born in Shanxi in 1984, now lives in Beijing.
Cai Yaling insists on presenting the real emotions in her life and creating appropriate art forms. She extracts the words and phrases that she has deeply experienced in her daily life, and explores the sculptural forms that correspond to the emotions of everyday materials and words. The experience and perception of physical and psychological suppression during women's growth is naturally infiltrated in the handling of materials, outlining contemporary women's endurance and resistance in the face of real-life dilemmas, and building a pedestal of empathy with the public's life experience.
Cai Yaling was a finalist of THE 2022 SOVERIGN ASIAN ART PRIZE, the SIGNATURE ART PRIZE 2019, the ‘Prix YISHU 8 Chine 2019’, The “ Best concern Award” of third session tam exhibition of nominated Chinese contemporary young artists. Her works have been exhibited in Kommunale Art Museum in Berlin, Today Art Museum, Minsheng Art Museum, Guangdong Museum of Art, Art Museum of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Her works have been collected by Kommunale Art Museum in Berlin, Guangdong Museum of Art, Zhejiang Museum of Art, He Art Museum and other public institutions.
