Huang Shuofei was born in 1984 in Luoyang, Henan Province, China. He graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 2009 and now lives and works in Beijing.
Huang Shuofei's works are mainly installations and paintings, exploring issues related to materiality, consciousness, and space, as well as reflecting on the relationship between order and control, logic and perception, and reality and virtualization. Underneath the simplicity of her works, she reveals the inner connection and essence of things hidden behind the reality in a formal way, and her creative process is like a game of seeking to establish new possibilities in the midst of constraints.
Huang Shuofei's work has been widely exhibited in art museums, art spaces and galleries, including the Times Art Museum (Beijing), Mocube (Beijing), The Garage (Beijing), New International Convention & Exposition Center (Chengdu) and TOKU Gallery (Nanjing).
