Qin Feng graduated from Shandong Institute of Arts and Crafts in 1985. He taught at the Berlin Art University and the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and is now a researcher of contemporary art at Harvard University. His works are known as "postmodern ink painting". He adopts the creative concept of abstract expressionism, integrate it with the traditional Chinese calligraphy, and uses multimedia to create. He is one of the contemporary artists with the largest collection of works by museums and art institutions. As an artist and scholar straddling eastern and western cultures, Qin's works poetically combine the romance of Western expressionist philosophy with the spirit of Chinese calligraphy, forming his own unique language and style. He is also an important supporter of contemporary art and education. He founded the Beijing Museum of Contemporary Art and has made important contributions to the development of Chinese contemporary art and cultural communications during the past 20 years.
Qin has won awards such as Berlin Municipal Government Award, Boston International Art Award, New Century Award of The McDorath Foundation and National Fine Arts Contribution Award. He has participated in Christie's, Sotheby's, Guardian, Poly and other dozens of auction house activities. His works have been collected by The British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The Museum of Boston, USC Pacific Asia Museum in California, La Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, The Ford foundation, Michael Douglas Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, The National Museum of China, Fogg Museum of Harvard University, Yale University Art Gallery, Smith College Museum of Art, American Department of Foreign Affairs, Italian Department of Foreign Affairs, Himalaya Art Museum, G5 Convention Center Chairman's Hall, China Import Expo Center President's Hall and other dozens of museums, art institutions and nearly 100 individual collectors.
