Sui Changjiang, born in 1982 in Shandong, graduated from the Shanghai Normal University Fine Arts College with a bachelor's degree in 2006 and earned a master's degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2016. He currently lives and works in Shanghai.
Sui's artistic practice is rooted in everyday experiences but goes beyond simply replicating the surface of life. By observing and reinterpreting familiar objects, he investigates the subtle connections between the material world and human emotions. In his works, ordinary objects are given a unique sense of "displacement," creating a defamiliarized quality that seems to exist between reality and memory.
Sui's works have been exhibited in major art institutions across Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the CAFA Art Museum, and the Liu Haisu Art Museum.
